Dysons Into Round 2 As Balmer Shows His 'Own' Way Of Doing It Dysons Rovers 4 - 1 Wandsworth Borough Town First Half: Dysons Line-up had changed considerably from last week still searching for the first win of the season. Dysons started a little slow and within the first 10 minutes conceded a goal. Wandsworth struck a hard wind assisted shot towards goal. Robert Balmer bravely jumped to header but only managed to steer the ball into the top corner of his own goal for. A brilliant header if he had done it up the other end. Dysons could only laugh at it and lifted their heads to battle back into the match. Scott Griffin was on a rampage terrorising the Wandsworth defence with strike partner Jason Beckford. Scott should of scored when Andy Soteriou slotted a ball down the left wing and Scott outpaced the defence to strike the ball across the goal line and just wide. Jason Beckford and Andrew Hastings just missed out on connecting at the back post. Scored should have then scored a lob after he beat the offside trap from a John Erratt through chip pass. Scott over hit the lob and sailed it over the bar. Then over half way through the half, Jamie Day equalised. Excellent play saw the ball go out wide to Andrew Hastings who delivered a low cross into the 6-yard box where Jamie hit first time to slot into the bottom right corner of the net. Dysons defended strongly with Robert Balmer playing in a new role superbly and Simon Foord delivery some crunching tackles looking back on form in his captain’s role. The midfield trio were tackling hard and battling well and Dysons finished the half the stronger team and were building in confidence. Second Half: The 2nd half was a lot better. Barry Leversuch, John Erratt and Andy Soteriou all got stuck in and were passing some good balls around. After a great spell of football Andrew Hastings delivered a superb cross into the danger area where Jason Beckford was challenging. The defender tried to header clear under pressure but only managed to guide it into his own net and give Dysons the lead. Scott Griffin, Jamie Day, Andrew Hastings and Jason Beckford all missed a string of chances. Scott Griffin the guiltiest looking like he was never going to score. Then with 15 minutes to go Scott was tackled nastily 30 yards out from goal. Scott stepped up & hit a venomous dipping free kick straight into the roof of the net for a 3-1 lead and a goal he surely deserved after many missed chances. Then 5 minute later Scott struck again. This time great passing and moving saw John Erratt square a pass into Andrew Hastings who then squared a pass unselfishly to Scott Griffin. Scott checked back inside the defender and struck the shot into the left corner of the net beating the keeper and clearly finding his shooting boots again to make the final score 4-1 to Dysons. Andrew clocked up his 3rd assist of the match and Dysons have finally broke the routine and found their first win of the season and booked a place in the 2nd Round of the County Cup. Date:
